Voyage reconciliation compares several quantity measurements to calculate several types of losses or gains.

loss reconciliation

When transferring parcels, there are losses or gains with every movement. These can occur during the load, discharge, lightering, or in transit. If the losses or gains exceed the acceptable thresholds according to a contractual agreement, they must be brought to your attention. Grouping parcels into a voyage and matching them to indicate the sequence of cargo movement allows the system to calculate losses and gains.

Losses that occur on the voyage level in transit, such as the in-transit loss and the shore-to-shore loss, must have parcels grouped into a voyage. You may move parcels from one voyage into another in order to group together the parcels needed for voyage reconciliation. You need to match the parcels in the voyage before Navarik Inspection can calculate losses or gains for the voyage.

The standards are from the Energy Institute HMC-4A Committee. All the values needed to calculate losses and gains come from the parcels' inspection worksheet's quantity results.
