Inspection > Voyage Reconciliation > Calculate Losses and Gains

Loss calculations can be done once the parcels in a voyage have been matched and the parcels' inspection worksheets have the All Submitted or Quantity Submitted status. Voyage loss calculations may be performed on-demand by the user or automatically by the system when quantity results for a discharge or ship-to-ship parcel are submitted.

Losses that occur on the voyage level in transit, such as the in-transit loss and the shore-to-shore loss, must have parcels grouped into a voyage. You may move parcels from one voyage into another in order to group together the parcels needed for voyage reconciliation. You need to match the parcels in the voyage before Navarik Inspection can calculate losses or gains for the voyage. For more information, see Match Parcels in a Voyage.

The following rules must be met in order to calculate losses and gains:

At least two parcels are matched. The system expects the ending parcel to be a discharge or ship-to-ship parcel.
The parcels belong to the same voyage.
The parcels are marine parcels.
The parcels have the same grade type.
The predecessor and successor parcels share a common transport.
The successor parcel has an activity date (i.e. BL or Outturn date) that is the same or after the predecessor parcel.
The parcels' quantity inspection results have been submitted.
