Nominations and Parcels

Inspection > Nominations

Nominations are work orders from the operators to inspectors. When a movement or custody transfer, such as a load, discharge, or pump over, occurs, inspectors report the quantity measurements and quality test results and the time log.

Nominations are made up of nomination parcels and are linked to inspection worksheets, time logs and invoices.

Operator Created Nominations

When an operator creates a nomination, she adds general information and then add specific parcels for the load or discharge. The information for each load or discharge is kept in the parcel.

In the parcel, the operator adds the following information:

Invoicing instructions and internal cost allocations
Quality test and quantity measurement requirements
Time logs requirements
Inspector assignments

Once the operator creates parcels in the nomination, she can assign the parcels to an inspection company for the inspection company to accept or decline. If the inspection company accepts, then the company receives the inspection worksheet with further information. In the nomination, inspectors can only see the parcels to which they are assigned.

The operator doesn't create the inspection worksheet. The system automatically creates it based on the information in the nomination, once the nomination is issued to the inspection company.

Inspector Created Worksheet Nominations

With appropriate permissions, an inspection company can create an inspector created worksheet (ICW). This worksheet creates a draft nomination. Once the ICW is submitted, the operator can edit and issue the nomination.

When the operator edits the ICW nomination, only certain fields can be edited, such as the invoicing instructions and internal cost allocations. The quality and quantity measurements as well as the time log and assigned inspection company cannot be changed.

Once the nomination is issued, it becomes a regular nomination, as if it was created by an operator. The operator needs to approve the ICW then issue the ICW nomination so the inspection company can invoice for the work. For more information, see Inspection Worksheets.

Navarik Inspection sets the nominated party to the inspection company that created the ICW. Since the work has already been performed, the operator cannot edit this information.
